Als junger Erwachsener ging er f\u00fcr einige Jahre zur Handelsmarine, und wanderte dann 1936 in die USA ein.<\/p><p>Drei Jahrzehte lang spielte er die Mandoline nicht mehr, erst in den 1950er Jahren fing er wieder damit an, nahm Unterricht und spielte Mandoline im Silver Strings Mandolin Orchestra.<\/p><p>Matteo Casserino ist einer der aus Italien stammenden Musiker die die &#8222;Ballo Liscio&#8220; im Raum San Francisco und in den USA popul\u00e4r gemacht haben.<\/p><p>Viele Jahre lang spielte er regelm\u00e4\u00dfig jeden Samstag Vormittag im Cafe Trieste.
