Mick Moloney (15 November 1944 \u2013 27 July 2022) war ein irisch-amerikanischer Musiker. Als hervorragender Musiker sang und spielte Mick Moloney Gitarre, Mandoline und Banjo, wobei das Tenor-Banjo sein Hauptinstrument war. Er war 1978 Mitbegr\u00fcnder von Green Fields of America, einem interdisziplin\u00e4ren irischen Tournee-Ensemble, zu dessen Mitgliedern Michael Flatley, der Gr\u00fcnder von Riverdance, der Theatershow mit irischer Musik und Tanz, geh\u00f6rt. Bis in die 1980er Jahre waren die Instrumentalisten der traditionellen irischen Musik \u00fcberwiegend M\u00e4nner, aber Mick Moloney ermutigte auch Frauen, aufzutreten, indem er 1985 in Manhattan ein Festival namens \u201eCherish the Ladies\u201c (der Name eines irischen Jigs) und im darauffolgenden Konzert ein Konzert organisierte Jahr mit dem Titel \u201eV\u00e4ter und T\u00f6chter\u201c.
