Februar 1918 in Rio de Janeiro; \u2020 13. August 1969 ebenda), eigentlich Jacob Pick Bittencourt, war ein brasilianischer Mandolinist und Komponist. Sein K\u00fcnstlername leitet sich von der Mandoline ab, die auf portugiesisch bandolim hei\u00dft. Jacob do Bandolim ist einer der wichtigsten Musiker des brasilianischen Choro. Er komponierte zahlreiche Choros f\u00fcr die Mandoline die bis heute zum Standardrepertoir im Choro geh\u00f6ren. Durch seine virtuose Spielweise und seine Kompositionen bewirkte Jacob do Bandolim, dass die Mandoline \/ Bandolim eine wichtige Rolle als Soloinstrument im Choro
