Zum ersten Mal ist er mir in den &#8222;Mandolin World News&#8220; und im &#8222;David Grisman Quintett&#8220; begegnet. Er ist einer der vielen Mandolinenspieler der durch David Grisman f\u00fcr die Mandoline begeistert wurde &#8211; und er war bald so gut, dass er im David Grisman Quintett mitspielen konnte. Mike hat in seiner langen Laufbahn unz\u00e4hlige Projekte realisiert und praktisch mit allen wichtigen Mandolinenspielern zusammen gespielt, unz\u00e4hlige Alben aufgenommen, Noten ver\u00f6ffentlicht, Orchester und Workshops organisiert. Neben der Mandoline spielt er auch hervorragend Mandocello. Zuletzt hat er die Cello-Suiten von Johann Sebastian Bach mit dem Mandocello aufgenommen. In meinem Beitrag kann ich nur ein paar wenige Stationen pr\u00e4sentieren. Dawg, Bluegrass, Choro, Klassik, Folklore &#8211; ich glaube jeder kann in der Musik von Mike Marshall etwas finden und von ihm lernen. Wer von Mike Marshall lernen will kann das bei ArtistWorks tun, wo er seit 12 Jahren Mandolinenkurse mit Videos und der M\u00f6glichkeit zum Video-Austausch anbietet.
